Woahhhhhh

So.... Hey! Haha. My ol' 5-year-old iMac, Beatrice, finally kicked the bucket a bit ago, so I haven't been posting -- half her screen is now dead pixels. However, I just got Ramona Quimby, my new MacBook refurb, in the mail!!! I'm really gonna try to post some more from now on. Promise. Gonna work on BwL tonight, too, and try to get back into the swing of art. I've been travelling and working a bunch, too.

So, for now, here's a WIP I drew on the airplane. I'll post more later ;)

Tattoo commissions are proving to be popular..

That's right, I've finished one tattoo commission and immediately got one more, as well as prospects for up to three additional ones! Who knew tattoo design would prove to be where the bulk of my commissions come in. Here's the one I finished for a friend; she wanted a shooting star with a little UMPH:

Aaaaaaaaaaand, just because you blog-followers get more stuff than the people who only watch my art site, here's the initial four I designed for her:

(And, in regards to the blatant watermarks -- yes, I went there. If anyone steals any of these designs, I will SO cut you. They are for her use only.) Anyway, tattoo commissions range from $5-10 for a small one with minimal detail, $10-20 for a large one with a medium amount of detail (the one above was $20), and $30-40 for a large one with complex details (I have a 30-dollar one in the making at the moment). For more info about non-tattoo commissions, check out my post here.

I also finally finished that totally awesome super secret picture I've been working on! And heeeeeere it is:
(Click to enlarge, "dirty" version here.)

I lurve it so~ ;_; I'm thinking about adjusting the size (adding some thick borders to the top and bottom) so it can be made into a poster for my room (the original image is definitely big enough). It even got front page on SheezyArt, despite not being anime. Golly!

In addition, I'd like to say a HUGE congratulations to my amazing boyfriend Jay -- he graduated with his Masters in accounting today!!!! I love him so much and I couldn't be more proud. I drew this cheesy facebook graffiti for him at like 4am:

I think I just may have a future in the greeting card industry. Come on, super proud, and he's a super hero. I THOUGHT IT WAS CUTE, OKAY? Look, I even gave him the beady Marvel eyes and pointy Marvel nose. Btw, his "cape" is actually the olive drab hood that he had/got (depending on your view on olive drab and hoods) to wear to his graduation.

So, tattoo business, greeting card business, or relying on my boyfriend with his fancy degree in accounting. Looks like whatever happens, I'm pretty set. ;3

Oh, to be young and ready to work.

Been super busy learning to drive (yes, I am almost nineteen -- 23 more days -- and I still can't drive), picking up job applications, going to the gym, and hanging out with my mom (who also happens to be one of my best friends)!

I have had time, however, to paint a ceiling tile for Tijuana Flats, which is this delicious Mexican place I'm applying to. They give out their ceiling tiles for people to paint so when I asked for an application I asked for one of them! I have a good feeling about that place, btw. Anyway, here it is:

Señor Squid. Omg. I'm kind of obsessed with it. Like a lot. I almost don't want to give it back, but that is bad art karma!!! Have some details:

The colors are more accurate in the first picture, by the way. Not sure what happened with the closeups!

Anywaysssss, one thing that Señor Squid did teach me is that I'm actually not as terrible at painting as I thought! It turns out the quality of paint I was using before was just... not right. I'm not sure if it was a lower quality (it was more expensive than the ones I bought for this painting), but whatever! I've found a brand that works, so expect more paintings from me in the future!

I alsooooo took a WIP shot of the piece I'm workin' on:

Flowers and legs and tentacles, oh my! Still gotta shade it and finish up flower placement, then I can show you guys. Stoked!

Anyway, that's it for now~ Buy commissions; I'm workin' on em now!

Caution: Post may be long and include BOOBIES!

Gosh, it is nice to be home. A queen sized bed, all the coffee I can drink, an actual freezer, palm trees -- I missed it so. What more can a girl need? Oh, right, a job. But I'll start working on that next Monday.

Anyway!!! I set up a Livestream account the other day!!! I've broadcasted twice now; one was a test broadcast and the one I did last night was... well, just like a free-drawing session. I sketched some stuff:

I alsooooo made some cute little graphics for my channel:

I also started a new piece last night involving a girl, a squid, and some flowers. I won't show you guys the composition on here 'cause it's gonna be a surprise, but I dooooo have some work in progress shots for you:
<-- Girl. NAKED!        <-- Squid. Also naked, I guess.

By the way, the squid's name is Sir Squidly III Esq., and I currently have a tattoo of him on my left shoulder blade. He is a love squid.

I also got some new shoes:

Admit it, I am adorable and a little corny.

I will leave you with a facebook doodle I drew for Jay of him and his friend George. Jay's the cute one with the green shirt.

One more Sharpie doodle!

I drew this for my friend Sarah because she was having a bad day:

You can't tell 'cause it's a webcam picture, but she is wearing an Arcade Fire tank top (she loves them), and around her are a plate of sushi, her boyfriend, a chinchilla, and a Grizzly Bear CD. It was fun to draw; she's a sweetheart. :3

I also started doodling a Draenei today to test out how a video of me drawing would look -- I doodle them a lot, but for some reason (probably because of my facial structure experiment doodles of yesterday) I decided to play around with her features to make her look more child-like. Keeping with that, I decided to give her teeny horns, too!

Isn't she cute? :3 Perhaps I'll finish her up in between essay-writing and light studying tomorrow. (By the way, in case you're wondering for some reason, the video of me drawing didn't go well... Copernicus crashed when I tried to stop recording.)

Anyway, to bed with me! Night~

Documentaries are fun!

So, I found this site called Documentary Heaven that has hundreds of free, one-hour documentaries. Soooooo addicted! I've watched three today: one on this psychological experiment about isolation and sensory deprivation, one on meth, and one on RealDolls. How varied! Haha.

Anyways, I've been in the mood to doodle in Sharpie a lot lately, and I've been wanting to practice neatness (I'm a messy, messy artist!), so I doodled this little thing last night:

And there I am, peekin' at you. c; Expect some more in an update later, as I am off to do even more Sharpie drawings instead of studying or writing my mini-paper that's due tomorrow at 11 pm~

Practice? Me? :o

So, don't laugh, but I love drawing characters from World of Warcraft. It's really fun to draw all the different species because they all have different facial structures, and I wanted to practice varying my humans so I can give more unique traits to my characters, so I drew a female of every species! :>

(Click it to enlarge it, but watch out: it opens in the same tab!)

But, yeah, I just wanted to share what I did all afternoon. :D
